Gold or silver? How to choose the right metal for you

It's the first decision most people make when picking out a chain or pendant, and there's no wrong answer — just what suits you.

Skin tone

As a rough guide, silver tends to suit cooler undertones (pink or blue-ish skin), while gold flatters warmer undertones (yellow or golden skin). If you're not sure which you have, check your wrist in natural light — blue veins usually mean cool, green veins usually mean warm.

Upkeep

Both our gold and silver pieces are built from 316L stainless steel, so neither tarnishes, and both are heat, water and sweat resistant — you genuinely can wear either in the shower or the sea without worry.

Everyday vs statement

Silver tends to read a little more understated and versatile day to day. Gold leans bolder and warmer, and pairs especially well with tanned or deeper skin tones.

Our advice

If you already wear a silver or gold watch, match your jewellery to it — it's the simplest way to keep your whole look consistent. Browse the full range in Chains and Pendants.
