What plating actually is
Plated jewellery looks identical to solid pieces on day one. The problem shows up later: the coating rubs off with normal wear, exposing the base metal underneath, which often looks patchy, discolours, or irritates skin.
What we use instead
Every Talisman piece is built from 316L stainless steel — the same grade used in surgical instruments and marine hardware, chosen for its resistance to corrosion, tarnishing and skin reactions.
